will host Late Night Madness.

After the football game, walk over to the gym.

There will be a dunking contest, T-shirt giveaways, prizes, and more.

Lady Bronco’s Defeat Sulphur in Round 1

Congratulations to the Lady Broncos Varsity Basketball Team

on their win over Sulphur, February 16.

The girls will now play Ouachita High School
Monday night at 6:00 in Ouachita in the 2nd round of the playoffs.

Rayah Haynes scores 47 to lead Zachary past Central in EBR Girls tourney

Rayah Haynes scored 47 points helping top-seeded Zachary High overcome a 10-point second-half deficit and defeat No. 4 Central 65-59 semifinal action at the East Baton Rouge Parish girls basketball tournament at Lee High.

St. Michael girls basketball coach Tami McClure to take over at Zachary High

One of the Baton Rouge area’s most prominent girls basketball coaches is changing teams in 2016-17.Coach McClure

Tami McClure is leaving St. Michael the Archangel to become head coach at Zachary High. McClure informed her players of the decision during a Monday morning meeting.

“This is not something I thought I’d ever be doing,” McClure said. “When I came to St. Michael, I figured I’d be here for my entire career. I’m thankful St. Michael was willing to take a chance on a girl from Massachusetts.

ZHS Lady Broncos – District 4-5A Co-Champions

Zachary girls hold off Denham Springs comeback

Zachary withstood the challenge and came away with a 58-52 victory over Denham Springs in a crucial District 4-5A girls basketball game Tuesday night.

ZHS’ win forces a tie for first in District 4-5A and also snapped a 19-game winning streak for Denham Springs (25-3, 8-1).

Denham Springs uses huge third-quarter rally to trip Zachary

Denham Springs trailed by as much as 17 points in the first half and went nearly 10 minutes without scoring. But a 22-6 third-quarter run was the jump-start the Yellow Jackets needed.

“It was definitely heart,” Taylor said. “In the beginning, we were rushing our shots … rushing everything,” Taylor said. “It was definitely a team effort. It was like a snowball. Once one thing started going right, it kept going.”

rebound2wThree players — Bryanna Langford, Rayah Haynes and Tamia Veal — each had 11 points for Zachary (17-9, 3-1). Veal had a game-high 16 rebounds.

Zachary girls cruise to victory over Scotlandville

Zachary girls basketball posted four double-digit scoring quarters as the Broncos cruised to a 66-45 over Scotlandville in District 4-5A play Tuesday night.

 RayahwWith the win at Scotlandville, Zachary (17-8), which scored its third-highest point total of the season, avenged a Dec. 12 loss to the Hornets and moved to 3-0 in district.rebound2w

Point guard Rayah Haynes paced the Broncos with 17 points, scoring 14 in the second half. Bryanna Langford added 16 points while Tamia Veal contributed 15 points and a game-high 11 rebounds.

Each Zachary starter registered points by the end of the first half, compared to only two Hornets. The Broncos also outscored Scotlandville in each quarter. Zachary coach Michael Stephens attributed the team’s performance to consistent communication.

Lady Broncos are the champions of the John F. Kelly Tournament at Broadmoor.  The girls are now 5 – 0.  Congrats Ladies.Broadmoor Tournament 2015

Lady Broncos Defeat Southern Lab 44 – 33

Our Lady Broncos defeated Southern Lab, 44-33 in an exciting game.

High scorer for the team was Bryanna Langford.

Our JV Ladies came up one point short, 24-23 in double OT.

Kris Brooks was the leading scorer.

Off to a Good Start!

Our Lady Broncos have won games in the Hall of Fame at Madison Prep as well as the Jamboree at Madison Prep.
