Zachary girls basketball posted four double-digit scoring quarters as the Broncos cruised to a 66-45 over Scotlandville in District 4-5A play Tuesday night.
With the win at Scotlandville, Zachary (17-8), which scored its third-highest point total of the season, avenged a Dec. 12 loss to the Hornets and moved to 3-0 in district.
Point guard Rayah Haynes paced the Broncos with 17 points, scoring 14 in the second half. Bryanna Langford added 16 points while Tamia Veal contributed 15 points and a game-high 11 rebounds.
Each Zachary starter registered points by the end of the first half, compared to only two Hornets. The Broncos also outscored Scotlandville in each quarter. Zachary coach Michael Stephens attributed the team’s performance to consistent communication.
